What does this plugin do?
This plugin is a powerful and intuitive tool that allows Cantemo users to seamlessly export structured metadata from selected media items into a CSV file for use in downstream workflows, documentation, compliance, or archival purposes. Users can choose exactly which metadata fields to export, either manually or through predefined templates, ensuring only relevant information is extracted. The export can include general metadata (title, ID, duration, file size or frame rate), or custom metadata fields (rights, show name, description, etc.), based on user configuration or templates.
How to trigger:
On the Search page, either in a Saved Search or a Collection, select the items you wish to export metadata for, and click the icon on the top right corner of the page (gear icon on Cantemo v5 or vertical ellipses icon on Cantemo v6)
User Experience:
Users can quickly and easily select any metadata fields they wish to export into a csv by clicking the check box beside metadata field, or users can select from a custom predefined preset which can have any specific fields already enabled (for exports that are ran frequently). Metadata available to select includes general metadata fields (system default fields), as well as custom metadata fields (configured in Metadata Group)
Once the user has the fields they want to export for the selected item(s), click Export. That will open another pop up window to show the status of the csv export. Then once the csv has been generated, the user will have a Download button they can click to download the csv file to their local computer
If the user is doing a larger metadata export, where it takes sometime for the system to generate the csv, the user can close the Export Metadata modal and the job will finish in the background. Once the csv export is completed, in the CineSys Job Viewer, the user can track the status and have the option to download the csv to their local machine
