Description
CineSys Transfer for iconik is a custom app that allow iconik users to download files in bulk or as collections recursively. It also maintains the directory structure on your local system.
This article serves as a guide for end users of the app.
Opening the app from iconik
The app can be opened by selecting the gear wheel in the search view:
Or by right clicking on a collection, an asset, or multiple assets(bulk selection).
App View
1 - Download/Pause All Files in transfer queue
2 - Remove and Cancel All Transfers in transfer queue
3 - Filter asset queue
a - Show All Transfer
b - Show Invalid Transfers Only
c - Hide Downloaded Transfers
d - Hide Invalid Items
4 - Settings
a - Current download directory
b - Set new download location
c - Max downloads number field (default is 4)
d - Update max downloads number
5 - Queue current status(READY/ACTIVE/COMPLETED) and overall download status bar
6 - Queue details: shows total data size, valid file count, and number of invalid assets
7 - Search Field for Transfer Queue
8 - Show asset in iconik (browser)
9 - Delete asset from queue
10 - Single asset download
11 - Download directory (relative to specified local folder/ISG mount point)
12 - Individual download status bar
Once an asset is downloaded, you can select the green check icon to reveal your local file in Finder:
Things to know
Multiple File Instances
If an iconik asset has multiple instances of a file in the specified download location(s), paths to each will be displayed in the item view:
In this case, revealing the downloaded asset in finder will show the first listed instance of the asset, so in the above case _iconik DL > To Download > Pages of Content > Insta.
Simultaneous Downloads
It is important to keep in mind that the more downloads you allow at once in the Preferences, the more taxing the app can be on your internet bandwidth.
The default simultaneous download number is 4, and it is recommended to keep this number low when dealing with large files like video or high resolution images images.
Reindexing
If you have assets from prior to May 2021, you will need to reindex your system to allow the Transfer app to download these items.
The Setup page will recognize this, and show the message below:
